Where the lake is — and why it is not the park entrance
Khao Sok National Park has two visitor zones about 50 km apart. The main park HQ in Phanom District (postcode 84250) is the land-based rainforest entrance, while Cheow Lan Lake lies in Ban Ta Khun District (postcode 84230) and is reached by boat from the Ratchaprapha Dam. Driving to the wrong one is the most common mistake visitors make.
- ▪ Park HQ — jungle trails, waterfalls, Rafflesia spotting, tree-house lodges
- ▪ Cheow Lan Lake — long-tail boats, limestone karsts, cave visits, floating raft houses
- ▪ Both zones charge the national park entrance fee
